Aakheri Zobana!
That is what my grandmother would say. Often.
As we sat to hear her talk about the world, she would use the two words, 'Akheri Zobana' and say with a very audible sigh, that it had arrived!
That Akheri Zobana had arrived.
One of the things she taught us about the symptoms of Akheri Zobana was the loss of substance.
Everything would lose substance.
And she would day that people would shrink as vegetables and plants would grow bigger.
Over time, of course.
And the one thing that has been happening with astounding accuracy as far as my grandmother’s observations of the world are concerned is the most distressing loss of substance.
Seelot is almost 6000 miles or so away from the UK.
Yet it feels that the virtues that we were taught to look for and opt for are the very same virtues which are absence from London at this distance.
The loss of substance is most acutely noticeable in the plethora of positions that the Blairing regime has created or added to the scene.
But the positions are filled with bodies with hardly any substance.
This emptiness is most horrendously felt about the London borough of Tower Hamlets Council.
And the emptiness spreads...
Into parts that are not supposed to be attached to the clique that is in control of what is known as the local Borough Council in Tower Hamlets.
Nowhere is that emptiness more disappointingly present than on and in the pages of what is supposed to be the sole local paper, the East London Idiotiser.
Since my comprehensive and continuing dissection of its contents and role began almost 20 years ago, the Idiotiser has been forced to change its appearances a few times. By appearances, I mean the lines of misinformation and propaganda it adopts and follows, not necessarily the actual physical layout in relation to my critical examination of it..
But the emptiness remains as loud as before.
Recently, it has taken to posing as being just as politically corrupt as the controlling clique on the Council. The difference is that the Idiotiser has again mistakenly decided to foster a contrived and untruthful image of the 'Respect' group...
The core evidence is traceable and identifiable as being the IDIOTISER’s own corrupt business inclinations which are behind its false promotion of interests that are closest to the corrupting agenda of the ‘Undone mayor’ Ken Livingstone...

Events in the East End of London again vindicate AADHIKARonline

Exactly two months ago, on 5 March 2007, AADHIKARonline published on the UK Indymedia observations about the Tower Hamlets Opposition group 'RESPECT'.
In the past week, things have happened including the 'defection' by one RESPECT councillor to the controlling faction on Tower Hamlets Council, confirming the existence of very serious problems within the group ordinarily identified with the Bethnal green and Bow MP George Galloway.
What is likely to happen in the near future is even grimmer than some of the comments to our original post suggested.
With the corrupting influence of 'Undone mayor' Ken Livingstone being spread across what many still consider to be the 'Socialist Workers Party' in semi camouflage , the RESPECT group is not about to become the consistent, ethically and democratically robust [as opposed to being undemocratically and unethically and corruptly defiant] and accountable opposition in the Borough that the community deserves.
AADHIKAROnline has scheduled the publication of another series of exclusive investigative reports, starting this weekend on a new web site, focussing on the crisis that the people in Tower Hamlets face due to the absence of opposition on the local council and on other 'constitutional' forums about Tower Hamlets.
The publication is part of the forthcoming appearance of a community-based news operation that is intended to fill the gap left by the absence of a local press that is truthful let alone prescient about key political currents and tends in the context of the massive heeds for such media in the East End of London today.
